Regarding School Visits:
"After almost ten years of speaking in schools in over forty states, I am currently unavailable for school visits unless they are under the auspices of a bookseller when on tour (arranged via the publicity department at Scholastic in New York), or under special circumstances associated with a conference. I still speak at state and national conventions, reading council meetings, and children's literature conferences, which are also coordinated by Scholastic (see other CONTACT information for those engagements). Please know that I am very much in touch with my readers through the mail, day visits in my immediate area, and presentations at bookstores when I am on tour. I hope my readers will understand that this adjustment has afforded me more time to write, which is what I love to do most."
